From Cruise Ships to Children's Books

Hello, I'm Ram Glick, creator of DogToon Books.

For more than 30 years, I worked aboard cruise ships, traveling the world and meeting families, crew members, and guests from dozens of countries and cultures. During that time, I experienced incredible adventures, learned valuable life lessons, and had the opportunity to see the world through many different perspectives.

Although my career was built at sea, I always enjoyed storytelling, creativity, and finding ways to connect with people. After retiring from the cruise industry, I decided to turn many of those experiences, observations, and lessons into something meaningful for children.

That journey became DogToon Books.

Why Dogs?

Throughout my travels, I noticed something simple but powerful: children and dogs have a unique way of connecting with others. They do not judge people by nationality, language, religion, or background. Instead, they approach the world with curiosity, kindness, and an open heart.

The DogToons were created to reflect those values.

Each DogToon has its own personality, strengths, challenges, and story, helping children learn about themselves while exploring friendship, empathy, responsibility, confidence, and the world around them.

The DogToon Collection

Today, the DogToon collection includes more than 20 books, featuring over 20 dog breeds and dozens of original illustrations created by Gabriela, a fantastic and talented painter I met in La Paz, BCS, in 2024

More Than Just Books

DogToon Books is not based on fictional worlds created in isolation. Many of the stories, lessons, and ideas were inspired by real experiences gathered during three decades of traveling, working, and meeting people from around the globe.

My hope is that these books help children discover new ideas, appreciate different perspectives, and develop a lifelong love of reading.
